Year 9 Chinese Poetry Alive & Festivals

Y9 CX101 launched the online Poetry Alive before the Easter holidays. Students gave recital performances on either their poems or their favourite poems during their Chinese lessons. These poems covered a variety of topics, including gender, human relationship and lives under COVID-19.  Here are some poems created by CX201 students.

Food and festivals are cultural symbols of a country. Y9 CX107 and CX108 have completed the Unit on Festivals and they have created a brochure to introduce one local festival and one festival they like. In this project, students are asked to reflect on what they have learnt about the concepts of “culture, context and meaning”.  They have researched the meaning of the festivals and have used the sentence patterns and vocabulary learnt in class to introduce the festivals and express their thoughts. Here are some examples of their work.

We are delighted to announce that tonight's (final) 7pm performance of 'Emilia' is still taking place, because the signal is set to lower to T3 during the day. You can buy tickets on the door, without booking in advance, by Octopus, priced at 100 HKD for adults, 50 HKD for students and children. We hope to see you there!
