Sports Bulletin – 18 October 2019

We hope everyone had a lovely half term break last week.

With the current situation in Hong Kong, unfortunately a lot of the HKSSF fixtures have been postponed by the organisers which may cause a backlog of matches to be played later in the term or school year. We will keep you updated with what happens regarding these games as soon as we know. Having said that, we are lucky to still have the ESF competitions going ahead.

On Tuesday, our A Grade Rugby Boys played against YMCA in the quarter finals of the HK schools rugby competition. It was a tough game and the match was tight throughout but SIS prevailed 33-21 and they are now through the semi-finals. Player of the match goes to Alex Lee. The semi-finals will be played on Tuesday 29 October at Happy Valley. Please come down and support the boys!

On Wednesday, our Junior Girls Football team travelled to KGV to play their next ISSFHK league game. The girls beat KGV 4-0. Great work ladies! Player of the match goes to Tessa Schraven, who scored scoring a few goals and was a great midfielder in the game. The girls are now in the play-offs which will be on Tuesday 29 October.

Thursday was a busy day for the Stingrays as we had the C Grade Boys Football, A and B Grade Boys Basketball and the HKSSF Swimming Gala at Victoria Park. The C Grade Boys Football played against YMCA and won 2-1. Player of the match goes to Moriz Ip. The A and B Grade Boys Basketball team played against Sha Tin College but unfortunately lost both games, A Grade Boys losing 34-46 and B Grade Boys losing 23-32.

Down at Victoria Park Swimming Pool, we had Day 1 of the HKSSF Div 2 Swimming Gala, with a full day of swimming competition for the A, B and C Grade Boys. There were many standout performances by the boys where they achieved their personal best times as well as making it into the finals. Great effort from the boys and good luck to them in the finals next Thursday on 24 October at Victoria Park again.
