SHTEPI MaD events WEEK

World Literacy- RAISING WHOLE SCHOOL AWARENESS (Monday September 26^th to Friday 30^th September)                      

Tying in with the United Nations International Literacy Day, Shtepi MaD (Making a Difference) group are running a week of fund- and awareness-raising events in the week beginning Monday 26th September. Activities for the week include:

1. Wednesday 27th September- “The Great Green Book SWAP”– event for Years 7 and 8 students
   • Year 7 and 8 students bring books to the SPACE at Break time and receive a TOKEN. Come back at Lunch time and pick a book to take home.

2. Years 7-13 students – “DONATE A BOOK” competition-
   • InterHouse points for the House that donates the most books! Boxes for each house will be located opposite the PTA office from Monday 12^th Final day to donate 30^th of September.

3. Friday 30^th September- Whole School ‘Dress as a Book Character Day’- All Students and Teachers!!    

• Come to school dressed up as your favourite book character to raise funds for “Room to Read” (org), a charity working in collaboration with communities and local governments across Asia and Africa to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among children.   Students in fancy or casual dress will be asked to donate  ( $10 to $20 ) to this cause and there will be a competition to find the best dressed! NO MUGGLES ALLOWED!
