Professor Van Hove at SIS on molecular motors and robots
Prof. Van Hove from HKBU was at South Island School recently to deliver a fascinating lecture entitled “Invisible but Potent: Molecular Motors and Robots”. The lecture, organised by Mr. Walsh, was attended by a number of interested Y11 and Y12 students and focused on the challenges of working on the nanoscale, the reliance on collaboration between many different disciplines to allow something like a molecular motor to be built, as well as exploring the potential of using molecular motors in the future. The students that attended asked some insightful questions regarding the material presented in the lecture and hopefully they will be inspired to consider joining this type of research in the future.
