New Management System – Attendance and Conduct

Using our new management system iSAMS, parents will continue to have notification of their child’s absence and we are hoping the new system will be much more accurate. Parents need to continue to email school if their child is absent for any reason. We will continue to contact parents should a child not be in school.

Parents and students will also get notification of any STINT (Staged Intervention) stages that a child might be placed on

What is Staged Intervention…
STINT is a framework that offers support to students and helps make clear the manner in which we do that. It is an ongoing process of gathering, structuring and making sense of the information about our students. The overarching principle is to be fair and consistent with every child in order to provide a safe and secure environment that fosters sustainable personal development and learning.

STINT seeks to provide a series of incremental supports that reflect various responses to our students’ needs. It involves collaborating and relating to others with respect, honesty and courage. At different stages this may involve students, subject teachers, form tutors, heads of curriculum, heads of house, leadership team, parents, external agencies and members of our local community.

STINT is based upon a central idea: we manage ourselves and our learning by developing self awareness, resilience and commitment. All members of our community have a solution focused mindset and use initiative to make a difference through resourcefulness, ongoing participation and reflection.

There are 5 STINT stages shown in the diagram below.

With our new management system both parents and students will be informed by email when a STINT is being actioned and the reason. We are hoping this information will be able to give parents more information about the behaviour of their children and to be able to support us in student development.
