Intl Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Award

Earlier in the year, Annika Li (7B2) participated in the 48th International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts in the Czech Republic. This prestigious event, which is held annually in commemoration of child victims of the Nazi regime in the Czech village of Lidice, has been a highly-regarded international event for nearly fifty years. This year, 144 coveted “Rose of Lidice” medals were awarded to the most special artworks produced by the 22 thousand participants (who represented 78 countries), with just 7 of those awarded to young artists from Hong Kong. Thrillingly, Annika was among them. Her striking painting on the theme of ‘landscape’ – which combined the use of water colours and Chinese ink – is vivid and memorable in its dreamlike quality and use of bold contrasts. Her friends, family and tutor Mr Jolly are exceptionally proud of her, and Annika was rather delighted too, having screamed out-loud upon receiving news of her achievement!

We are delighted to announce that tonight's (final) 7pm performance of 'Emilia' is still taking place, because the signal is set to lower to T3 during the day. You can buy tickets on the door, without booking in advance, by Octopus, priced at 100 HKD for adults, 50 HKD for students and children. We hope to see you there!
