Blood Donation (CAS opportunity)
Dear Y12/13, Parents and Staff of South Island,
This year, our school will be partnering with the Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) to organise a blood drive. This charity organisation has been committed to saving lives since 1952, relying on the generosity and benevolence of voluntary donors to achieve their mission. Single blood donations can save up to three individual lives, and we are really excited to provide students, parents and staff of South Island School with the opportunity to change lives in our community. The blood drive is expected to take place on November 2nd, 2016 (Wednesday), after school.
In order for this blood drive to proceed, we are looking for 60 willing members of the parent/staff/student body to kindly volunteer to donate their blood. For Y12/Y13s in need of CAS, this experience will also count as a service.
The basic criteria for the blood donation are as follows:
- aged 16-60
- weigh above 41Kg
- Healthy in general
If you have read the above criteria, are potentially interested in participating and keen to receive more information about this opportunity to make a life-changing difference, please take a minute to enter your basic contact details in the forum below:
The deadline for signing up : October 12, 2016
If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at ahnj1@webmail.sis.edu.hk
- Also, if any year 12s are interested in managing and helping the event on the day (Huge CAS opportunity), contact ahnj1@webmail.sis.edu.hk.
We look forward to hearing back from you!
