South Island School Celebrates Exceptional Achievements of 2023 IB Diploma Graduates
South Island School is thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our 2023 IB Diploma graduates. In our first full year back on campus, our resilient students achieved results equal to or higher than our last unaffected 2019 cohort. This IB cohort faced constant disruption to their studies since the beginning of their IGCSE studies 4 years ago due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They had to learn how to quickly adapt to the ever changing circumstances forced upon them. May 2023 was the first year that students had to complete the full suite of IB assessments since 2019 and the IBO made it clear that grade distributions would be returning to May 2019 levels. An incredible 35% of our students have achieved 40 points or higher, demonstrating their exceptional abilities, resilience and dedication to academic excellence. Please find the overall IB statistics HERE.
We are also proud to announce our largest-ever cohort of 20 students in the IB Careers Related Programme has been awarded the CP qualification, underscoring the success of our strongly developing IB CP programme. This accomplishment reflects our dedication to helping each student choose the best pathway for their personal and academic growth.
The exceptional achievements of the 2023 cohort in both the IB results and the IB Careers Related Programme are a testament to the unwavering support and guidance provided by our teachers and parents. South Island School acknowledges and appreciates their invaluable contributions in nurturing the success of our students. As we celebrate the accomplishments of the 2023 IB Diploma graduates, we remain committed to providing an exceptional learning environment that fosters academic excellence, personal growth, and resilience. We are confident that these exceptional individuals will continue to make a positive impact in their future endeavours and contribute significantly to their chosen fields.
As our students begin to process and assess their results, I encourage our community to support our students by affirming their efforts and celebrating their successes.
